The Honourable Paul Bonwick, former Member of Parliament for Simcoe-Grey, provided a letter of support to the MNCTP in 2003, after introducing and overseeing the passing of Bill C-411, An Act to establish Merchant Navy Veterans Day.
In his address, the following statement was made:
“First of all, let me begin by wishing you much success with the Merchant Navy Commemorative Theme Project. These Veterans are deserving of such recognition as they played an integral role during WWI and WWII. They sacrificed so much, so that future generations could live in freedom.”

THE TOWN OF COLLINGWOOD
In her letter of endorsement, the following statement was made by Her Worship, Mayor Sandra Cooper, Town of Collingwood:
